Indiana State Police Officer Sgt. Carey Huls with Dodge the cat.

Indiana State Police Sergeant Carey Huls took his police cruiser to a police station shop in Sellersburg Indiana when a female cat was inside of the auto engine on Friday morning. The female cat was removed from the Dodge Charger cruiser by a fellow officer with no problem. The cat was healthy when she was taken out of the police cruiser. Sergeant Huls named the cat Dodge. The best part of this story is that the female cat was reunited with her mom the same day. My guess is that Dodge entered the engine of the police officer to get some shade from the heat outdoors. Glad she didn't have kittens while she was in there. Cats love to find places where they can hide away. One of our cats burrows inside the couch.

Animals seem to love to get under the hoods of cars, don't they; from squirrels to kittens.

Animals like to hide underneath autos for shade and staying away from heat and cold.

The cat was probably seeking a shade, glad they could get her out and reunited with her kitten.

That is the behavior I noticed about the cats inside of the house that they either sleep underneath the beds inside of on top of the bed during hot days.

How come that the police officer doesn't know to let the stuck cat in the auto engine? The big question is how did the cat get inside there?

I guess the cat wanted to get some shade from the heat outside. I am sure the police officer heard the meows of the cat inside his auto.

@Nakitakona That is a good question why did the police officer not open the hood of his cruiser.

@Deepizzaguy That's natural for everyone to get some comfort. But my point is why the police officer unable to open the auto engine? As far as I know most auto drivers know how to open the hood of their car.

The engine inside of the police cruiser was cooled down when the cat was removed from the cruiser.
