Cat rescued from a drain in Long Island New York

Thanks to the teamwork of the Long Island Police Department and the Strong Island Animal Rescue who heard the cries of a kitten who was trapped in a storm drain 30 feet below near the Port Jefferson Station on Friday. The jaws of life was used to lift a 5,000 pound concrete slab from the top of the drain when the rescuers were able to get the kitten whose gender is not known out of the danger area and into the surface. The kitten was then taken to the Jefferson Animal Rescue where the officials at the animal hospital are hoping that a loving family will adopt the kitten who is in good condition after the rescue by the police and animal control officials.
