Hello all! And good Sunday!! On the way to get dinner and it will be a chicken and mixed vegetables and a roll. The chicken will already be cooked and I can microwave the vegetables. Easy Sunday Dinner! Miss the good old days of making everything from scratch like biscuits and peach cobbler. Do you cook mostly from scratch or buy things already cooked?

That sounds like a good and yummy dinner. As much as possible, I would like to cook from scratch especially if I am able to find fresh ingredients. Somehow, if I don't have time or too tired to bother, then we have no choice but to get those already prepared and ready.

I guess it depends on the time you have, (and perhaps whether you have ingredients available or not...). Cooking from scratch also ensures you actually know what ingredients went in your food and how it was prepared...
I think I would prefer to cook from scratch, but to buy things already cooked would be fine on occassion.

I have always cooked our meals. It wouldn't have been practical, healthy, or very frugal at all to buy ready-made foods. Pretty much the only cooked food I ever buy is a Costco rotisserie chicken, and I honestly haven't purchased any of those since last fall. I prefer to just cook, and then I have more control over what is in the food.

Plus, after all the chicken is gone, I always cook the bones to get broth, so one chicken goes far!

Lately, I have been buying flash frozen dinners due to the ones offered being so healthy, and flash frozen being a healthy way to preserve a frozen dinner : garlic salmon, lemon cod, and Cajun tilapia, all with vegetables. I have been thrilled with those. No preservatives or added junk is the best way for me to have anything frozen.
I just haven’t been feeling good enough to routinely cook from scratch like I used to.

We do both. I should cook from scratch more often, but frozen pre--cooked is more convenient when eating so late.

@db20747 Considering how late we tend to make dinner. That was the name of the game.

I have been cooking meals at home lately. I like it better than eating out since it is more practical.
