It's holiday today...one not in the calendar

Good morning from this side of the planet . It's a beautiful Monday morning here. It's cloudy with sun peeping out every now and then. No signs of rain so far. So, it's pleasant . It's a holiday today and this is one due to transport strike in the city. Most of the children use school transport and the buses are on lease from state transport. They declared a strike last evening and we took a poll to see if parents can drop the children or they would want a holiday. More than 70 percent were not in a position to drop and thus, an unexpected holiday was declared. Most schools are closed. My daughter's college has their own private buses and they are working today. Mu husband is working from home as their transport to office is also not working and he doesn't want the trouble of driving to work. Because of my daughter's school, I woke up at regular time to cook and pack for her. So, despite a holiday, I woke up early and I am happy. We went for a long walk around apartment and the nearby lake. It was pleasant weather. My household help will not be able to come today due to this transport strike. So, I end up having some extra chores to take care of. The parents for the afternoon therapy session confirmed that they would be dropping the children in the afternoon class. So, at least I am working in the afternoon session. That's all the blabbering for now. I hope that all is well at your end. Have a good new week
