Why Does Everybody Hate Harry and Meghan?

I just don't really understand all of the hatred toward Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. Of course none of those of us on myLot know them personally, but from what I have seen and read, they can't be all that bad.
I do think the media has had a lot to do with it. And Meghan being an American and somehow after they were married, whether he wanted it or she wanted it or they both wanted it, they stepped down as royals and now live in the US, so I can understand why the people in the UK may not like her, but why lump Harry in there with her in terms of the dislike?
I was a huge Princess Diana fan. She tried to be a good wife, she was very caring toward others and I think she was a great mom. And ever since I watched her funeral processions with William and Harry walking behind her hearse, I have a special place in my heart for both of those boys (men now).
I just finished reading his book "Spare" and I have a new understanding of how the royal family works and a better understanding of the rest of his family. Honestly, I can understand why he wanted to step away from being "royal" and living under the rules of "the Firm." After Diana died, he really has had a challenging and often sad life.
I wish him only success and happiness from here on out and I hope Meghan really loves him and stands by him.
What are your feelings about Meghan and Prince Harry, and have you read his book, "Spare?"

@kouponkaren I wish they would drop out of the news and just live their lives. He has lived in a celebrity bubble all his life and that’s bound to leave anyone warped. The press and the British establishment have a lot to answer for I think. All very tedious. High time we ditched the royal family and elected a head of state. They irritate me no end.

If you read his side of the story, that's what they would prefer...to just drop out of the limelight and live their lives. Except if she goes back into acting and he does more with the Invictus games. Both of those endeavors come with the need to have at least a little publicity to help whatever they are doing be more successful.

Yes, most definitely! The time for royal families has passed. Who in the world wants to raise their children while living in a fishbowl?

Well, we know Princess Diana didn't want to live in a fishbowl or raise her children in one.

I don't blame Harry either. Diana tried to walk away but I think it was too late because si many people loved her and wanted to know what she was up to.

I have not read the book.
I had never been a fan of Harry's long before Meghan.
Specifically why..always making a spectacle of himself.
Meghan is neither here nor there for me..she is a typical gold digging attention seeking person.
Hatred is too strong a word for my feelings towards either one of them.
I really don't have much interest in them or what they are doing.

If you read the book I think you might get a better insight into why he did what he did. Yes, he has made some choices and in the book he owns up to them. He never had to be the prim and proper furite king because that was the "Heir's" position so that took some of the pressure off of him. But I think. at least from what he says in the book, the media made up a lot of stuff about him and things he did or actually didn't do. just to get more readers. And of course, it would look silly if every little thing a royal member supposedly did was corrected by the person who did them, it would be a waste of time because the public probably wouldn't believe the truth anyway. And how do we know Meghan is a gold digger? We don't even know her. She actually had money of her own from her career even before she married Harry.

@Kouponkaren When I say gold digger, I mean attention grabbing more than about money.
But it is clear his feathers are ruffled as it is sure he will never be King.
They just seem so pathetically inconsequential to me.
Don't you think they are constantly wanting attention?
Soon Harry will be wearing a skirt and Meghan the pants, although I think she already does.

@RebeccasFarm YES! They only want attention and everything they say is to get attention and money. Harry always wore a skirt, he has the brain of a chicken.

I just think that people have a bad habit of believing what the media tells them to believe by painting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as villains.

@Kouponkaren It is a shame that the media twists stories to make some people villains when they are not at all.

I agree with you. In the book, Harry talks about how some of he terrible things we have heard about Meghan were made up or twisted in a way that looked negative...like I read her staff was upset because she was sending them texts late at night or early in the morning and she said she was awake and thinking of things so just sent texts while she thought about stuff...like she does with her friends. I do the same thing. But she certainly didn't expect people to get back to her at those times. And the whole thing about her making Kate cry, when it was really Kate who made Meghan cry, and she admitted to it. But the media twisted it so that Meghan looked like the evil one.

@Kouponkaren They are keeping the UK public out of their life I think.

I never go for extreme love or hatred for any person in public life. I don't know them personally and we only see the picture that media paints for us. I feel sad for these royals and celebrities...they are always under lens and getting scrutinized. People should have right to live their private lives and not be targeted or judged all the time.

@Kouponkaren I would never like to be in spotlight all the time and have to put my best foot forward. That would be so stressful. It's not a blessing all the time to be a celebrity. I know that his decision to marry Meghan for that reason might not sound right to us. That's because we have lived a different life. One's decision depends on his situation.

I totally agree with you. Harry lost a few girlfriends, one that he really cared a lot about, specifically because of the media hounding them all the time. That's very sad to me. Apparently, he was looking for a woman who could handle all of the media attention and because Meghan was an actress, and was used to being recognized and getting attention, Harry thought she could handle it. I think it was excessive though.

I always liked Diana and I think Harry and Meghan just want to live their life drama free. I don’t get the hatred either. I haven’t read his book, but would like to.

I bought mine used on eBay. I guess Harry won't make any money on that purchase, but I also don't think he needs it!

I haven't read the book. I did like Meghan when she was on Suits, but I don't like her anymore. I think they should stop being in the spotlight so much.

I certainly do not hate them. Even people who have done me something bad l might dislike but not hate . Much less Harry and Megan who have done me no wrong. I too wonder about the hate. l have always prefered Harry over his brother. I think he is ruggedly handsome. And Meghan is my middle name....

I liked them both because they were Dian's sons, but now that Prince William has lost a lot of his hair, Harry is definitely the more handsome of the two. :0)
