What did you have for dinner on this sunny September day? Do you have a favorite hot dog place?

I was pooped when I left Guitar Center this evening and decided to pick up a hot dog at Casper's. It was delicious and did the job. I got four shots this morning at the doctor's office (flu, shingles, tetanus, etc.) but feel OK so far. I was told I might feel tired or even chilled tomorrow. We shall see. Guitar Center went well. Al of my students showed up, and each made some progress. I got a developmentally delayed (is "special needs" the proper term right now?) kid to sing traditional Mexican songs at the top of his lungs today. The enjoy in his eyes was enough reward for me. Soon I will retire (for the day). Kitty is fed. And re-fed. I am caught up on emails. Will I peek at the book chapter I am writing? Will I pick up my guitar? Or will I just....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?

I am so glad for the boy who enjoyed singing Mexican songs. You made him happy. I prepared mushrooms with bruschette for dinner.

@TheHorse Bruschette (plural of bruschetta) consist of grilled bread rubbed with garlic and topped with olive oil and salt. You can add tomatoes on tops, but the classic is only garlic and olive oil.

Casper's! They have good hot dogs. Sadly, the closest one to me is an hour or so away. I do enjoy street dogs, those carts that show up outside events at night, but I also like Umai Hot Dogs locally. My favorite of theirs is the Honolulu Bang Bang, which is a Polish sausage topped with hoisin sauce, pineapple, diced red onion, and bacon bits, and is served on three Hawaiian sweet rolls. They also have a pretty good Chicago-style one with a 100% beef hot dog topped with mustard relish, diced onion, diced tomato, dill pickles, sport peppers, and celery salt. Of course, nothing beats a Costco hot dog for the price, and the quality is pretty decent too.

I reckon you'll have to visit one when you're out running errands. I'm lucky to have one on my way home from Guitar Center.

@TheHorse It looks like it's a smallish chain, but they started out in San Jose. The closest one to you is probably the one in San Francisco. There's three in this area, so I didn't realize the chain was so small. http://umaihotdogs.com/

What did you have at Swiss Chalet? Is it really Swiss food?

@TheHorse Roasted chicken quarter (white), Caesar salad and a roll. Not even in a chalet but a regular, commercial building.

I had my quick nap this afternoon and cooked some sauteed beans for lunch. For dinner, I am not sure what are they cooking right now. I still need to work and check it out after work online.

I'm glad you got a flu and shingles shot. Shingles suck. Yes, I believe special needs is the proper term now. Have a good day. P. S. I had yogurt for dinner.

Thanks. Oh, I have some Trader Joe's Greek yogurt that I really like. I should have some with my slices of ham this morning. I think I am out of eggs. Thanks for the reminder.

My dinner has been the same as usual--rice and rice again with some spicy cooked vegetable. I had to make do with it so that I would still be able to make ends meet.

The spicy cooked vegetables sound good. I keep rice here. It is one of my staples.

There is a Hot dog stand/place here in town called "H&M" and they have been around for about a million years. IF you are ever this way, you should check thenm out.

Ah, I'll look for it next time I'm in Florida. But when will I be in Florida. Aha! A widowed high school buddy has a new girlfriend in Florida. Maybe he'll marry her in Florida.

@TheHorse Well I'm in Florida and some of the most beautiful horses are here. AS well as some amazing natural springs and geysers. So that seems like good enough reasons to come here.

Hot Dogs never took off in the UK the way Burgers did. This makes me sad because I quite like a good hotdog. There used to be small hotdog stands around and about and you sometimes get them at events - fairs and sporting events - but there's no fast-food chain that specialises in them. Funnily enough Ikea do a really good hotdog in their stores and although we rarely go to one, when we do I like a hotdog on the way out!

I haven't been to Ikea in years I wonder if they do the hot dog thing here in California.
