Do you wear sunglasses when in the sun?

I have been wearing sunglasses when I am in the sun for any length of time. I have been doing this ever since I was told I had the type of cataracts you get from looking at the sun. They don't really harm vision, but they are there. I don't want them to get any worse. How about you? Do you wear shades?

I have the sunglasses that fit on my regular glasses. I only wear the glasses/shades when I'm driving.

Yes, I have those too, but I wear them at the lake or anytime I am out in the sun for a longish period of time.

@snowy22315 I've had skin cancer. I'm not supposed to be out in the sun for any length of time.

No. I have tried several times. I get dizzy when moving if I wear them.

@snowy22315 I think it's because I'm blind and how my eyes do (and don't) process light.

Well when I had my previous prescrip glasses yeah because they were transitions, but these aren't..I couldn't afford to replace them like that.
But years ago, I nearly always wore sunglasses.
Didn't save me from slight catraracts though.

@snowy22315 Well I keep meaning to get a pair of shades to go over the glasses you know..I should and thanks for the reminder..supposedly it helps to shield the eyes

@RebeccasFarm Yes, the ones I am wearing are solar shield. They aren't much to look at, and may be a little nerdy, but they get the job done

Yes, and I just got a new, free pair. I would show you a picture, but I can't even attempt a picture now; we get a runtime error when we try. After I had eye surgery nine years ago, the ophthalmologist told me to wear sunglasses, even on cloudy days. I guess just like you can get a sunburn on a cloudy day, you can do damage to your eyes on a cloudy day too.

Having blue eyes has always made me sensitive to the sun. I always wear shades. My son's the same way.

I wear sunglasses more than I did when I was younger. I've had cataract surgery; and I want to protect my eyes. Have a good weekend.

You may want to look into them. It is not healthy for your eyes to stare into the sun.
