23 September - What I'm Thankful for This Weekend

Good evening from a warm Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The day started rainy but turned sunny and warm before the day ended. I have much to be thankful for this weekend. My son picked me up early yesterday morning. We had a good drive to Oshkosh where my sister lives and where the book signing took place today. I met my grandniece and nephew yesterday. I had seen them before, but not to interact with them as I did yesterday. It was a fun day. My grandniece is a hoot. She's five years old and is very active. Once she came out of her shell, she accepted me and drew me a picture. I'll need to put it on the fridge. My grandnephew is seven and spends most of the time on his phone playing a game. However, he did come outside and played a game of catch with a football. They all had a good laugh at my throwing. He has a good arm. It wasn't a competitive football, but a child's football. Still, he has a good arm and no matter what kind of football, I can't throw. Great time. My sister took me on an architectural tour of Oshkosh. It's an old city with homes both modern and old. It was fun to see the sights of the city. Today was the book signing. It rained and forced us inside the store instead of outside where we might have sold books. As it was, only one person sold a book and that was because her friend came specifically to see her and get a book. However, it wasn't a total loss. I left two sets of books - sixteen books with the store manager on consignment with them. So, they could still sell. I had a good trip home with one of the members of the Writer's Guild. All told it was a good day and a good weekend. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading.
