I have always been interested in spirituality, the paranormal, astrology, herbal medicine, All Saint's Eve, etc. Many religious types don't see any sense in it. It's sort of like their 'faith', it's something you just feel is right and true.
I was thinking of fall decorations and the witches and bats were fighting me for a juxtaposition. I started wondering about witches. Who might be the very first one? There was Circe, who manipulated and trapped men on her Meditteranean island. The first one in the Bible was the Witch of Endor. She summoned the spirit of Samuel for King Saul. And, Macbeth, Shakespeare's leader of the witches who controlled the winds and spoke of the past.
But what about Bridget Magnus? The first person who was executed for witchcraft in Salem in 1692. She was executed on June 10th for a charge of witchcraft which was overturned on October,31,2001. I'm going to be thinking about her this year on Halloween.

I am also interested in spirituality and the paranormal. If you are interested, the last witch to be executed was Anna Göldi. She was a Swiss housemaid who was the last persons to be executed for witchcraft in Europe. On 20th September 2007, the Swiss parliament decided that in Anna Göldi case, justice was wrong. And 225 years after her execution she has been rehabilitated.

@celticeagle They killed innocent women because their husbands (or no matter who) wanted to get rid of them.

I didn't realize that they had overturned any accusations of witchcraft. Have a good day.

I know they recently overturned or pardoned those accused of witchcraft in Scotland. It's good to see any society come to it's senses and carefully examine some of the unsavoury and unjust actions of the past.
