I am sure that most of you do share some personal matters here, but not all. For me, I used to tell my mom about some of them. Since she is not here anymore, I just kept it to myself or told some of my close friends if there was a chance. Of course, I am cautious when doing it. There are times that friends can be a backfighter if the relationship turns sour. If they do, they are not real friends in the end.
Do you frequently discuss private topics with others?
Did someone backstab you?

I have no one to discuss anything with. I do the best I can on my own,

It depends on what you consider a personal matter might not be the same to someone else. What I choice to tell someone is based on my comfort and trust in them or the fact that it doesn't require test to state if something is bother me even if it isn't personal.
I talk a lot about my family but I pick and what it is I want to tell, same with my book topics that I'm working on what might happen inside of the book.

During my younger years, my life was an open book. But then, it changed when I experienced many bad things for those whom I thought could be trusted. Now, I have learned to choose what topics or secrets to share. Recently, I just kept them to myself and dealt with them solely.

Honestly, I do not tell anyone much anymore other than Mylot. People to stressed out these days and just best to keep it to myself. I try to tell my sister things and she has enough on her plate being retired. Its just not fair she should be enjoying her life at this point in her life. I really am upset at the way the world is going making people so stressed even retired.
If I tell her something it stresses me out more how she is going to react, so now I have a rule, never tell your sister that.

@crossbones27 They should not know that I am gossiping about them here. Just kidding. It is a good thing that the person who referred me here is not active anymore. It was a blessing in disguise to find a discussion site and earn at the same time, which I considered a bonus.

Yes, my own sister back stabbed me. So I don't share my personal matters with her. My elder son is a good listener but I don't have anything that personal now. Mylot is a good place to open out your heart.

@aninditasen We are on the same page about this concern. In fact, it is better to be vigilant when it comes to personal matters. There are times when these people will not be loyal forever.

@Shavkat It has taught me a lesson. I have become more cautious while talking about my personal matters.

I have just been thinking about this topic due to recent events that I won't go into.
I only really discuss private matters with my husband. I am lucky to have him.
It does depend on what the topics are. I'm not close enough with anyone else to talk about truly personal things, but I might discuss some health things with my big sister.
I sometimes talk about things here, depending what they are.
