I'm repotting our rose bushes

When we first moved to this lifestyle village, we bought some cement troughs to go along the front fence. We put rose bushes in three of them and they did really well for several years. But they’ve been struggling a bit lately. We repotted one into a much bigger pot before we went away several weeks ago and when we came home, it was covered in new growth which was nice to see. Yesterday we repotted another and I’m hoping it will be happy in its new home too. We will more the third one soon too. Next time we’re out and about, I’ll buy some seedlings to put in the troughs to hopefully get a bit of colour along the fence. Imagine a photo of lovely roses.

One is Origami which people think is Double Delight but it's slightly different. The others are pink - no red ones.

Thanks. I'm glad you like them. And as you can virtually 'see' them, I hope you can virtually 'smell' the pink one.

Gardening and plant care need a lot! At our current place, we have a bit of struggle with the sunlight. I have tried to put more soil into a few plants, turned upside down and watered. Yet some of the plants are yet to pick up on the regrowth. A few sturdy ones are going fine. Time is also a constraint as many a days, I am unable to take out time to do much about the plants and plant care. I hope that the Roses are having good growth !

One has a lot of aphids on it but I'm put some powder around them which will hopefully help.

@JudyEv Powder? Some sort of manure or pesticide for plants?

I should do the same with some of my succulents. They have outgrown their pots.

@JudyEv I planted cuttings from rose bushes and they were some of the prettiest I’d ever planted.

All my plants need to be pretty self-reliant. Only the tough ones survive.

@JudyEv It was attacked by hundreds of small mosquitoes and aphids, I did not arrive to get rid of them. I will replace it next spring.

Don't roses require fertilizer? I don't know. Have a great weekend. Love the photo in my head.

Yes, they do and I've fertilised them from time to time. The nurseryman said they might be a bit starved for earth if the troughs were too small.

It sounds like repotting has done the trick. It would be nice to see them. YOu could take a video and put it on youtube and share the link.
