What's for dinner? October 3

What's going on the dinner table tonight? Share with us! I'm trying a new recipe tonight--the Chicken Rice with Buttered Onions from the Smitten Kitchen site. I already have all of the ingredients on hand and it seems easy enough to do. To go with it I will have some sauteed zucchini to get some vegetables in my life. This recipe will produce plenty of leftovers. I'll freeze some and bring them to my sister next week along with some other meals I will make for her. That's what is happening here. What are YOU having? Do tell!

That actually sounds pretty good. I've got some leftover grilled chicken thighs, so I am going to use some and just make a fried rice stir-fry in the Wok tonight.

@porwest Nothing particular comes to mind. I mean yes terrible stuff's gone down in my life in the past month but on the site overall--not so much.

@NJChicaa lol. Hiding. Not sure if I'm back, but I decided to come back for just a bit and see what's new. Have I missed much?

@porwest it is easier for me to keep frozen stuff in my freezer so it lasta a month, I have found these pork sausage patties very tasty. They come fully cooked and frozen and you just heat them up. I do different things with them like having them with gravy and potatoes, heating patties topped with spaghetti sauce and cheddar or barbecue sauce and cheddar, Either way with the potatoes it make s ameal.

@RasmaSandra Yep. We DID have this conversation since I remember this package and meant to write down some ideas. There's more than one reason I visit some of these older posts. All of your ideas sound delicious, and I never would have thought to do any of that with these. Sounds yummy.

I don't know if I have ever had a pork patty. Although, I swear I asked you about this once and you said it was like a brat burger or something. Or maybe it was a breakfast sausage. I don't remember, Either way, it sounds good.

I made two home made pot pies for supper. Chicken, peas and carrots from our garden. They are in the stove right now.

I have not made homemade pot pies in ages and just love them. Might be time do one real soon. I just need to decide between chicken or beef.

I am having what amounts to a turkey TV Dinner. But I have added peppers (not hot) from my friend's garden, serrano peppers (a bit hot), and pomegranate (from a friend's garden). Also butter. Yummy.

@TheHorse What brand do you get, because sometimes that makes the difference.

That turkey in those things never resembles turkey. But I admit it can be good sometimes.

Hubs was grumpy and sleepy so I just had some cheese balls (cheese puffs in the shape of a ball). Have a great day.

@porwest Ah, this was when hubby was still home. Yes, he sometimes gets grumpy and doesn't want to make me coffee or something to eat.
