An Island County Sheriff's Office (ICSO) Deputy whose last name is Walker saw an injured owl named "Philbert" who was hit by an auto last Wednesday.
Philbert was seen on the road when Officer Walker picked up the injured owl and gave him a ride inside his squad car to take the owl to the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center (SWCC) in Arlington Washington state to be treated for his injuries from the auto accident.
It is hopeful that the owl will make a complete recovery from injuries suffered in the accident since wildlife officials believe that the owl was hit by an auto overnight since autos cannot see owls in the darkness of night.
