A friend popped round for a cup of tea the other day. Nothing particularly unusual about that, but I imagine that many people think that when two friends get together for a cup of tea/coffee, especially two female friends, they probably chat about their children or swap knitting patterns or something.
Well yes it’s true those kind of subjects sometimes do come up, though perhaps not as often as might be expected. But our most recent conversation did make me chuckle to myself because the subject of cube roots is probably not what I expect people think middle-aged women talk about!
What did you chat to your friends about recently?

My best friend and I talked about ribbon and the diamond painting I am making for her. My best friend is making me a wreath for Christmas. It's going to be green and white. I told her green and gold, but she couldn't any gold ribbon.

Let's see. We talked about bathroom lighting, elderly men still accusing us of never spending time with them (when we are with them all the time), religion, politics, our sons, groceries, Mexican Train, the weather, our pets, Israel, guide dogs... The list goes on and on.

My one friend in Minnesota is having quite a few health challenges; so that's what we've been talking about. We exchange maladies. Isn't it great getting old? Have a wonderful day.

Nothing much, I just let them ramble on and occasionally make a noise to let them think I'm listening...

Haha. Good for you two. My friend and I might do a cryptic crossword together or sometimes we have a bit of a moan about our husbands but only to each other.
