Migrating Birds At Sunset

So, today was a very busy day. I had my lunch early so that I could have more time painting. My step-dad gave me the garage door key and £50 just incase the plumber came while they were out. When my Mum and step-dad had gone to the luncheon club, I set out my painting equipment. The phone rang and I answered it incase it was the plumber, and I said, Hello? But there was no answer, so I said, Hello? But then they just put the phone down and I heard it go Brrrrr. So I don't know what that was all about! I drew a frame around my paper about 1cm from the edge. Then I drew the horizon line about 1/3 of the way down the page. That was all the pencil I needed to use. So then I painted the sunset sky using a mix of lemon yellow and white for the lightest areas near the sun, then gradually merge that with orange and deep red as it moved away from the sun. Then I left it to dry. While it was drying I practised painting flying birds on a small piece of watercolour paper. My Mum and step-dad came home so I left the painting and got ready to go to the big Tesco. The plumber still hadn't been. Mum asked me to post some letters first in the foyer of the big Tesco. When we had gone up on the lift, my Mum got some more money wallets ready for Christmas. I got a Doctor Who magazine. If we'd have gone to the Tesco yesterday like we should have done I wouldn't have been able to get the new Doctor Who magazine and I'd have had to wait till next Wednesday. Then I got 3 lots of seaweed thins, some Love, Corn, 2 bottles of water and 2 prawn layered salads. There was a cute ghost hanging from the ceiling of the big Tesco for Halloween! I got some pads for my Mum, and then we went to the fruit and veg section. I didn't need any blueberries because I got them on Tuesday. I didn't need any lemons either. I got some garlic, celery, spring onions and rocket lettuce. Then I got some soy milk with no added sugar. My Mum got some bananas again. The bananas I got on Tuesday were a bit soft, but the one I had with my lunch was OK. Then I got my yoghurts and 2 bottles of milk for my Mum. Then Mum got some puddings for her and my step-dad for Sunday. Then we went to the vegan and ready meals isle. I wanted scrambled tofu but it was out of stock and the chick'n'less bites were still out of stock too. I got something else which is like a vegan omelette. I don't know what it's going to be like. I got a broccoli vegan quiche and a creamy mushroom slice. The mushroom slice is going to be for Saturday again. I also got a vegan mac and cheese. I didn't need any chicken and bacon style tortellini because I've still got some left over from last week. My Mum got her own ready meals while I was doing that. After that I got some brown and wild rice. Then I got some stuff for my step-dad, and then we got some cake. Then I got some chocolate digestives for my step-dad and some Matcha green tea T-bags for myself. Then I got some Alpen cereal with no added sugar for me. Then we went to the frozen section and I got some vegan magnum ice lollies and Mum got some peas. I got some more frozen prawns. Mum got some more frozen meals. Then I went and got some kitchen roll and some washing up liquid and then we went to pay. It came to just over £115. By now it was about 4:20pm, so I swapped my book at the Tesco book swap and then we went down on the lift. My step-dad wasn't there when we got into the under cover car park, so we sat on a bench for a bit. When he came we went home, and when we got home I unpacked the groceries and put them away. My Mum didn't help me because she was exhausted and needed to rest. I had my dinner and watched some telly. I washed up and then watched some more telly. After EastEnders I went back into the dining room to do some more to my painting. I put the telly on in there too. I painted in the sea in my picture using varying degrees of yellow ochre, a mix of yellow ochre and orange and a mix of yellow ochre and burnt umber. Then I left it to dry, and I ate one of my vegan magnum ice lollies while it was drying. It still wasn't dry so I decided to write this post while it finished drying. It looks like it's dry now. So now I'm going to paint in the birds. I might have to draw them in in pencil first, and I'll practice painting them some more on my little piece of watercolour paper. I will add a picture to this post later when the picture is finished. I might have to wait to take a picture till tomorrow though when we have natural light because the colours under the light here won't look right. What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a great night. EDIT:- The picture is now up, but it looks a lot lighter and brighter than the actual painting.

I look forward to seeing your picture when you get to post it. It’s too bad the plumber has been having such a hard time coming to do his job for you guys, too. Not much has been going on here. I’ve been trying to get a bunch of survey sites caught up, and have been going through my apartment to throw away as much junk as possible. Some stuff I can donate, but a lot is going to the trash.

Thank you very much. I hope you like it when I do. Still don't know when that plumber will be coming! I hope you enjoyed your day, despite not much going on. When I go through my stuff to get rid of stuff, I usually just end up moving things around and nothing ever gets gotten rid of!

I love your picture. You did a really good job. I’ve intended to do a painting but haven’t gotten:to it. I went so far as bring my brushes and paint out to the deck, so there they sit waiting for me. Seems like there’s always else that needs to be done.

Thank you very much. It is getting a bit silly now. But I am glad the plumber didn't come when my Mum and step-dad were out because I didn't want to deal with the plumber on my own!

I am hoping your will post your picture once it is finished. I always like to look at your works. I had a pretty common Thursday, grocery shopping, hose work, nothing exciting.

@sharonelton - Take your time, I know you like to finish your paintings before showing them here. I just did a load of laundry and I thought to you without the washing machine.

I will hopefully post my picture this afternoon, but it's gone dull again so I hope it comes out OK. I'm glad you like to look at my works, and I hope you like it when I put it up. I hope you enjoyed your Thursday, shopping and house work, even though they were nothing exciting.

That was a lot of groceries to put away. We built an Ikea cupboard yesterday and have another one to build today.

@sharonelton There is a joke about the founder of Ikea having a flatpack coffin for himself.

Yes, There were a lot of groceries to put away. Six Tesco bags for life full! Plus the Kitchen roll, Alpen cereal and Mum's pads which couldn't fit in the bags! I hope you enjoyed building the Ikea cupboard. I hope it turned out good. I'm no good at flat pack!

@JudyEv That reminds me! When we were in the big Tesco on Thursday, there were these Halloween things in the first isle, and there was this inflatable black coffin! My Mum was not impressed with it!

I wonder when the plumber will be coming? I look forward to seeing your painting. Not too much going on here. My husband's Godson/cousin might be coming over soon as he will be up here from Nashville. Have a great weekend.

I wonder that too. My step-dad phoned the plumber earlier but didn't get a replay, so he left a message. He's thinking of phoning a different plumber but my Mum said, make sure you phone him up to cancel him before you go phoning someone else! There's a programme on our telly that we've just watched where people can phone in to "get things off your chest," like complaints and things. This one lady phoned up to complain about service men not turning up when they were supposed to! She phoned them up and they said something had come up and they had to go somewhere else. And she said to them, I took the day off for this!!!! So it's not just us!. I hope you like my painting when I put it up. I hope you enjoy your visit with your husband's Godson/cousin. You have a good weekend too.

@LindaOHio Thank you very much. I'm glad you like it. I'm always told it's not about talent, and that anyone can learn to draw and paint. You just need to know how. I mean, I never thought I'd be able to draw people. They never used to look like who they were meant to be. But now:-

I hope you can achieve that, and I hope it doesn't rain for you. I'm feeling a bit jealous because I can't do any laundry at the moment!
