12 October - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening from a cool Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. I just looked for the temp on my computer and it says rain is coming in the next three hours. 
I am always thankful. It would be a really bad day if I wasn't. I don't understand how people can go around with long faces and complain about everything. Look around. Hey, just doing so shows you're alive and something to be happy about.
So, today was another day when things didn't go according to plan. However, they still went great.
I'm thankful for the scale. After yesterday's breakfast with my friend, I expected an unhappy scale. Instead, I only gained one ounce. I'm happy.
I'm thankful my son's girlfriend picked me up this morning and took me to DMV. I have new plates on the car. She also helped put them on the car.
I'm thankful for my son. I'm thankful for his concern. He wants me to get rid of the car right now and quit driving due to the upcoming eye surgery and the fact the cop pulled me over twice now in several years. His concern is touching. I'm not giving up driving. The car - yes. That was always the plan to get rid of it before the registration was due. With the fact I have new plates, I believe I'll have a new car when the time comes.
I'm thankful for a little bit of shopping after DMV. My son's girlfriend needed to stop at Hy-Vee, and I needed something I didn't know about when I went shopping on Tuesday.
I'm thankful for a fun game of Canasta. There were only four of us today, so one table and partners. My partner and I won the first game, and the other partners won the second half game. My partner needed to leave for swimming.
I'm thankful the office was open so I could give them my new license plate number.
I'm thankful my friend insisted on waiting to pick up her car until after Canasta was over. She's happy to have her car back. However, she will need to take it in next week and get the heater fixed. The one thing they didn't have time for.
I'm thankful I have all my steps. When I got done with everything, I walked the building. I also plan to get more exercise on the foot cycle when I watch TV.
Okay, that's my day. No, I didn't work on my book. No, I didn't get the notifications done. We'll see about tomorrow. However, I have a friend coming over tomorrow to discuss my writing a book for her. I'm also dog-sitting for the dog next door for a few days.

Some people aren't born with that golden eye. They have a habit of complaining and can never appreciate anything . I call them lethal for my sanity

No one is born with a golden eye. You need to make a conscious effort to be positive. I remember a time when I was riding the city bus, many years ago. I still had small children. I thought about how negative thoughts always come about. If you think you're going to get sick because everyone else is, you will. If you think you'll never get your finances where you want them, you won't. I made a conscious decision that day to think only positive thoughts because those things happen too. I don't need to get sick just because everyone else is. I don't need to have financial trouble just because my bank balance says so. Today, my life is good. Not perfect, but good. I have never had a negative thought from that day. It makes me sad when people complain about everything.
I do my best to stay away from lethal people too. However, I will also try to make them see that they're still breathing and that they have what they need. If I inject positivity often enough maybe they will start being positive. It's my hope.

I have a cousin who is always finding something to complain about. Needless to say she is not a happy person.

As much as I hate the rain at times, I'm thankful for it too. I don't like when people are alway so negative, but depression does that to a lot of us. I'm thankful for the daily thankful post. It's a reminder that no matter the day, there's always something to be thankful for.

@just4him Yes it is. However, it can be to much. As with anything in life.
I have and still do suffer from clinical depression. When it hits, it can be hard to find the positive in the dark. You feel like you're drowning sometimes and you can't reach the top, the way out. I had to learn to fight my way out, and find something positive in my life.

Rain is necessary to life. So, though we might not like it, we need it.
I've never been subject to clinical depression. Though, I think it would help them if they injected a note of positivity into their lives. I know when I have a down day, that something positive always lifts my spirits.

Rain is also coming here by this evening. I am glad to have a more seasonal weather.
You know there are people who seem to be content to show that they are unhappy and there is always something to complain about. We must work hard to try to be positive.

I am thankful for the batteries that came today in the mail today and the handyman came in today to start working on the washing machine that needs to be repaired.

I guess I’m thankful I made a good amount of money on one particular site today, which is always something to be thankful for. And on a different site from that one, I made payout, so it wasn’t bad at all, to make a little extra today. I’m mostly thankful that my family on the Hawaii cruise is still safe.

We can "plan" our days but sometimes when they work out different it is to our betterment.
I am thankful for the rain we got early this morning. The weathermen said it wouldn't come up to us but God allowed it to. We have been so dry. It wasn't much but I am thankful for what we did get.

I'm glad you got rain. Every drop helps.
I'm thankful it's raining. We've had a couple of days when the clouds spit for a few minutes. Today's rain is supposed to last until tomorrow. It's a wonderful blessing.

Same here, I check my computer for the weather. Sometimes, it can't predict the real weather. I'm thankful for this day and for the fact that my parents (in their 70s) remain healthy.

Lovely photo. You certainly had a lot going on. I'm always thankful for a roof over my head, food on the table, clothes on my back, money to pay the bills and a husband that I love! Have a good weekend.
