Good morning, friends. Mario is outside, hurting my ears with the lawn mower and I´m about to go and take a shower to get ready to go out with him to buy all I need for my kitchen. I cooked rice yesterday and today I´ll make chickpeas to serve with rice. I should thaw abratwurst to add to the dish. And I´ll make Mario´s favorite salad as a first dish. See you later, friends.

@bettydeng5 From what I know, Chickpeas need to be soaked overnight and then cooked in a Pressure cooker.

@LadyDuck I only have a fairly big pressure cooker as I gave away my small one to one of my daughers when she got married. And as the sell garbanzos, beans and lentils by the kilo, I soak and cook the whole kilo and then separe them in servings for 2 people to place in the freezer. I add the rest of the ingredients when they are thawed.

I love chickpeas. And they are a good source of proteins. I serve them with rice to have all the essential aminoacids.

We have a friend staying and she's never been to Ikea so maybe we'll take a day trip there tomorrow. It's on the other side of the city.

Those places are so full of inexpensive gadgets that make life easier. Today I also bought there a thingie to scoop out ice cream. I have been doing it with a spoon for 60 years but it is lovable and easy to wash.

Of course it was not in my list.

@marguicha I have two of those scoops. I put them in a jug of hot water if we want to serve ice-cream to visitors. We usually let them serve themselves.

Chickpeas in curry? If yes, then Chickpeas and Rice is something that we too enjoy. I hope that you have a good Kitchen stuff buying time.
