Suzanne Somers Died Today and My Heart is Broken

I just read that Suzanne Somers died today, one day shy of her 77th birthday. That is heartbreaking to me for 2 reasons: 1) Because she died one day shy of her birthday and I am sure she would loved to have made it to another year officially and 2) Because she beat breast cancer 20 years ago, and was just diagnosed with breast cancer again recently. Having had breast cancer myself, she was a great champion to me and someone I looked up to who beat breast cancer. But it looks like it actually beat her the second time around. That makes me so sad, and a bit more anxious about what my own future holds regarding breast cancer. If you don't know who Suzanne Somers was, she starred as the dumb blonde "Chrissy" in "Three's Company" with John Ritter and Joyce Dewitt. She also starred in a show with Patrick Duffy years later called "Step by Step," and made the Thigh Master famous. Do you remember Suzanne Somers?

@kareng Yes I liked her in Three's Company, but also in her second show Step by Step. Did you ever watch that one?

I remember Suzanne Somers well from her days on "Threes Company." As a teenage boy, I had an enormous crush on her.

Never heard of her. But sorry that the cancer got her second time around.

@Fleura Well actually she apparently fought cancer multiple times. She had skin cancer in her 30s. She was fierce to have survived cancer all of those times.

@Kouponkaren You know, there are a lot of women who get called out as trailblazers. Gosh, democrats like to use that term all the time. But she really was. Truly. I think she did a lot of good and always had a positive vibe about her.
