Defrosting and Cleaning the refrigerators

We have two refrigerators that both need cleaning and defrosting as they are not auto defrost. Sometimes we just defrost and not bother about removing everything out and cleaning it which is actually needed Last couple of months we just defrosted and that could be the reason why we hear a knock sound a single knock - from one of the fridges perhaps coming from the compressor Have decided to clean it now and see if it helps Else we will have to call up the company for them to come and check it out, How often do you clean and defrost your fridge/s?.

About once a month I check all the bowl and packages in the fridge to make sure nothing has gone bad since the last time I checked and Pretty cleans the inside of the fridge and freezer.

@allknowing I understand. Most people in the US don't have maids.

Our fridge never seems to get overstocked but I clean it as it needs it. I rarely have stuff go bad in there. It's an auto defrost.

I do check for things to see if they go bad but have not been taking out everything and cleaning it. But that is called for.

I am fortunate..my fridge is not a defroster..one never has to defrost it. I hope that this will help the problem and that you do not have to buy a new compressor. Or will you get a fridge new?

Both our fridges are pretty new and besides that noise nothing else is wrong with that fridge. Good you do not have defrost your fridge.

@allknowing I have one Single Door LG Refrigerator. I will defrost it once in a week. I will clean it from time to time, when cleaning is required.

@writerjo I would recommend once a month or when you see too much frost

The fridge doesn't need defrosting and I just clean it whenever I notice that it needs it!

We really don't defrost as all our fridges are non-frost but we deep clean our fridges every three to four months.
