Fixing the balloon dog

Balloon dog

Sometimes when we go to shopping mall, there is a clown making and giving away the balloon animals to the children. My children always like to get it. (Well, my eldest said he is too old to take the balloons, so he doesn't take it anymore now.) My daughter got a balloon dog and my youngest son got a balloon sword from the clown a few days ago. After playing with the balloon dog for a while, the dog became "untwisted". My girl wanted to have her dog back, so I searched for a balloon animal tutorial, and let her try out. Finally, she managed to fix it, and the dog was back. I thought it is very hard to make the balloon animals and never thought of learning how to make one. Since my girl wants to try it out, I purchased a pack of balloons online. I guess the children will have fun making the balloon animals later. (I wonder if I dare to give it a try. ) Have you tried making balloon animals? Picture: The balloon dog my daugther fixed.

I used to make balloon animals for Pretty when she was little. It's not too hard to do... you just have to remember not to blow the balloon too full before you start twisting it.

Thanks for the tip! Yes, it's really not too hard or scary to make the balloons. I was "forced" by my children to make some for them at the beginning before I got ready for it.... Being a parent really makes ("forces?") us learn.

@kaka135 You're welcome and yes, our children can make us learn things we never thought to try before. I believe, if I'm remembering correctly, that the first three balloon dogs I tried to make exploded before I got them finished. Pretty kept saying, "Oh, you ruined that one! Try again, Dad!"

@DaddyEvil Glad that the first few balloons I made didn't get exploded, otherwise I might not dare to try making the animals. I am not fancy of balloons at all, as I always am scared of the "explosion". Though I haven't make the balloon explode yet, I am not so scared of it now after twisting here and there several times. That's why I am thankful for my children for giving me a chance to try it out... or conquer my small fear.

I use balloons during the party I throw for those poor kids and these days you get beautiful balloons with emojis on them. Never tried making animals using balloons

Yes, nowadays there are different kinds of balloons, some come with different shapes too. What do you mean by "use balloons during the part throwing for the poor kids"? Giving away balloons to the kids?

@allknowing That's nice. I think many young kids like balloons... and bubbles too. I always see the kids playing bubbles in the park.

That dog looks fine now. What a great idea to buy a bag of balloons for them. Just about everything has a tutorial on it nowadays.

Yes, I am really thankful for the invention of Internet, we can learn a lot of things on our own without going out for classes... I think it's a good handwork activity for the kids. Moreover, they have to learn to "count the parts" and be proportional... (Some skills for me to learn when I made the balloons...) Of course, they can be creative to do whatever they like too.

@kaka135 I can see how there would be some learning experiences from making shapes with the balloons.

Yes, we followed the video tutorials online. I always wanted to make flowers, but haven't make one yet. I'll learn and make one later....
