Replacement Needed

It's only been days since we bought a new washing machine and I was able to use it last sunday and finished washing our clothes. Something happened that made mom sad about her purchase. She used the machine to wash beddings last Monday, sadly it stopped washing and so mom was surprised about it. She called me and asked for help. The wash timer was not working properly it's not moving and the machine is spinning continously . I told mom that when I used it , it was okay. And she said okay we will have it replaced. I told her the machine is still under its warranty for repairs and such in short we called the salesman and asked what should we do. The salesman said that if we would like to have it checked we will have to bring the machine to their store and will schedule it for a repair and we will wait or we can replace the unit and just pay extra. Mom said she would like it replaced than repaired because what if it broke again? We will wait again , unlike if we replace the unit we can have the unit and will not wait . If you were in our situation , what will you choose? Repair or Replacement? And why? p.s. the washing machine is inside the box , I did this so that our cats won't scratch hahaha

Mine broke last year and we choose replacement, it was 23 years old, not worth repairing.

@iKONICNoona I know it is expensive to have them repaired and when they are so old there are no more the replacement parts.

@LadyDuck Oh yes , if an appliance has served you that long and broke I guess its best that you replace them already. Even our appliances give up too as time pass by.

She definitely did something that broke that machine. is the cats claws so strong that you have to cover it? I guess this proves automatic doesn't guarantee safetly.

@Letranknight2015 When I used it last Sunday it was working fine , The wash timer is working well , I placed the timer to 15 minutes and let the cycle finish and then load another batch of dirty clothes inside . When mom used it last tuesday she told me she placed the wash timer to 10 minutes only because its only just beddings she's washing and then it started to stop whenever the timer hits the 10 minutes .

I wouldn't pay extra since you just got it. They left you in a bad spot.

@wolfgirl569 I told mom that if there's the same unit available with the same price please get it since it hasnt been a week since we bought it. She feared that what if the new unit was broken again , I told her maybe we can ask the salesperson if we can test the unit first in the store where they can see it and then decide.

If it's under warranty I don't think it should cost you anything. That would be so disappointing with a brand-new machine.
