Largest Pumpkins and Pies

I love pumpkin pie. I found online today that the largest pie ever baked was one that was 3,699 pounds on September 25, 2010, by the New Bremen Giant Pumpkin Growers located in Ohio. On October 9, 2023, the World Record Pumpkin was reportedly grown by Travis Gienger from Anoka, Minnesota, and weighed 2,749 pounds. Previously the record holder was Stefano Cutrupi in Italy on a pumpkin that weighed 2708 pounds.
I have never seen a large pumpkin. Only online. My daughter and grandson will carve their pumpkins probably this weekend. Are you going to carve one?

No more pumpkin carving for me but I enjoyed it while I lived in Latvia, I also love pumpkin pies, I would have loved seeing such large pumpkin pies, If I am not mistaken Anoka is the Halloween capital,

@celticeagle I remember laying out the newspaper on the table. My husband cut off the top, and we dug out the pumpkin. Then he carved it. The kids had a lot of fun.

I am not. Though I would love to. There would be no place to put it outside without it being destroyed and stolen sadly. And I wouldn't want it indoors coz of gnats.

I am not a pumpkin lover but my wife will make a pumpkin pie which she insists is nice. I insist it is not!!!

I read about the largest pie and pumpkin. I wonder how they moved them? No pumpkin carving for us this year. Have a good day.

They move them with farm equipment and transport them on flatbed trucks.

I watch "Outrageous Pumpkins" and they have to use huge ones sometimes.

@celticeagle - Often here they publish the list of the largest pumpkins harvested in this area.
