Ouch, do I hurt.
But oh, was it worth it.
See the picture?
After lunch I decided that, since I was on the Indiana side of the river for a change, I’d try to find the entrance to the pedestrian walk on the Lewis & Clark Bridge, one of our two “new” bridges (and the reason we have this hefty toll to cross it). Although the Lewis & Clark Bridge is part of an interstate loop (I-265), they built a multi-use walk along the bridge. It’s only accessible (as far as parking goes) from the Indiana side.
So I parked and accessed it.
What a walk!!!
In fact, too much of one. My feet are screaming at me, and so’s my back. When I looked at my phone’s pedometer, it said I’d walked three and a half miles.
It was worth it.
We’re getting our “warning signs” of winter, with skies frequently overcast and cooler temperatures. When you get a day like this in autumn, you take advantage of it.
As for the pain, that’s what Tylenol is for.

The picture is really beautiful! That IS a long way to walk. My back tightens when I walk even a little more than I should. This morning though I was looking very odd. But when you have that chance to see that kind of loveliness, you understandably take it, and I am glad you did.

It’s about two miles further than I am used to, so I will hear grumbling from my feet, knees, and back for a few days.

I was a little surprised that there wasn’t much of a foliage view on the banks of the Ohio, but there was plenty of color to look at along the walk!

As long as the views were fantastic. If I had to walk that much now I would have to crawl or have someone carry me back. It was great in Latvia I had a hand to hold and my husband and I walked all over the suburbs across the bridges and all over the city. Now I walk around my small apartment.

When we lived in Daytona I’d walk to the beach. Most of the time it was just a couple of blocks, although the last place we lived faced Peninsula Drive so that was five blocks. I still loved it.1 person likes this

@FourWalls I am just a couple of blocks from the beach but problematic for me because of my bum knee, I am planning on giving the walk a try with a cane sometime soon, Other than that to keep me up I walk with a four-wheeled shopping cart when I need to pick up something,

I didn’t mean to overdo it, but it was worth it. And, it wasn’t so bad that I had to call EMS to come pick me up. I’m Gloria Gaynor, I will survive.

We seem to be about two weeks behind where we should be for fall. It is coming though. Sounds like a lovely walk.

I can’t take it (aggravates my asthma). Tylenol and Lidocaine patches after a hot bath are an adequate replacement.

That's it Marines called and said anything under 10 miles is child's play. I just kidding. Navy Marine jokes funny. At our age they lucky we get out of bed or maybe that is just me.
You are right winter is coming and been amazingly warm here, kind of scary warm. I hate el nino too. Effects whole country but last time did us dirty rained more than we ever seen in year and then next decade was dry as bone. How do you think I got my name? Haha. I hope this nino's keep coming around because the day they stop there is nothing but heat.

Tell the Jarheads they can WALK to the next war.
You’re right. I feel blessed. A lot of 63-year-olds can’t walk three miles. A lot of 23-year-olds don’t walk, either.

@FourWalls Walk to war, walk to war, all you fools do is make us walk to war. To be fair we tried humvees and driving, but that was deadly. I would rather walk.
