Ready for a killing frost

Because it will rid us of most of the biting bugs that are still feasting on me when I go outside in the evening. Did I post yesterday? I forgot to check. If I did, did I mention my pirate friend? His name is Josiah Cutler. The picture is one I took of him when he presented at the history center on Saturday. Today, K and I took Sophie for a walk around the neighborhood. The air was brisk and dry and hardly a cloud could be seen. We spent the rest of the day puttering about the house. What sort of mischief did you get up to today?

Josiah makes a fine looking pirate! We should get a frost some time this week. Ticks are a real problem from what I heard...along with the mosquitoes. We just watched a couple of football games. Have a good week.

My friend also plays Ben Franklin for school kids and participates in Revolutionary War re-enactments as a Continental Army soldier.

I am also grateful for the colder nights to get rid of those horrible mosquitoes, finally I can go out without coming back inside full of bites. It was a warm afternoon, we walked yesterday.

We have these tiny biting bugs called no-see-ums that have been swarming of late. They are worse than the mosquitoes.

@DWDavis I think we also have them, because the bites I am finding on my arms are not mosquitoes bites right now.

Nothing out of the ordinary..was a low key day. No biting bugs here at this time really .but they may be back this weekend. It is supposed to be 80+. Go away summer and don't come back until July
