A cub gets inside of a grocery store in Alaska

A eub that entered an IGA store in Petersburg Alaska last Thursday afternoon to help himself to some food since it is likely that in the name of progress due to their homes in the forest being taken down from them. The owner of the store called 911 after the cub entered the store. Wildlife officials as well as the Petersburg Police Department and the Alaska State Troopers who came into the store in an attempt to remove the cub away from the store. The police officers were able to use a dog catching pole to catch the cub and escort the cub to the back of a police auto and into the forest where the cub will be free to be in his home once again. No one was harmed in this incident inside of the supermarket in Alaska. Link is upi.com/8771697832694 via @upi

This is something you certainly don't see everyday. lol. Must have been a sight to see for sure. Luckily it was only a cub, which is essentially harmless. But I'd be worried where mama was...

Apparently bears are starving in Alaska since the authorities are warning the people to be careful when they see a bear.

It's a good thing momma bear wasn't close by, not sure she would like them handling her cub. Thankful no one was hurt. I wonder how often this may happen in Alaska? We watched a video on YouTube the other week about people living in Alaska who are taught to take a pistol and bear spray when they go outside for walks.

There are reports from Alaska that bears are known for entering houses and grocery stores a lot.
