So, my step-dad took his lunch upstairs so I could get to the dining room table sooner than I thought I would. Today I'm doing a watercolour painting of Tarte aux Pommes (Apple tart to you!) My initial sketch was already done, (I did it on Tuesday) so all I had to do was get on with the painting. The first thing I did was put on the masking fluid (the blue bits) to stop the painting from running into that area and to keep that area white. I will paint over that when I remove the masking fluid. While I was waiting for the masking fluid to dry, I read a short story in a Sci-Fi anthology book! When the masking fluid was dry I started on the background and shadows in varying shades of grey. I left a little bit at one side where some light is showing. I guess I could've masked that off too, but I never thought of that! Now that the first part of the background is done, I'm waiting for it to dry. Then I will paint the blue tablecloth. I guess I could paint the actual apple tart too because it's not near any of the other painted areas. Anyway, that's how far I've got so far. I'll update you again later. Continue with your day!
