No Frets, No Frowns

We're heading for the camping grounds. This weekend we will be trying out a new campground in the eastern part of the state near but not on the coast. There is a manmade lake on the campground, and a creek running alongside it. The campground itself is relatively new, but it is full hook-up with pull-through sites. It is also close to home. We should reach it in a little over an hour. Once we are there and set up, I will post some photos. What are your plans for this weekend?

It seems nice so far. Next time we come, I hope to bring the kayaks as they have a small lake to paddle on.

@DaddyEvil I rigged up a folding bleacher seat for my kayak to support my back and it works great. If I move up to a solid hull kayak (mine's inflatable) it will be a sit atop with a proper seat with a back. My friend has one and he thinks it's the greatest thing.

@DWDavis I'd take a canoe because kayaks hurt my back... but getting out on the water always sounds good.

It sounds like a nice place. I’m not sure of my plans yet. The weather is beautiful. I may have my son go with me and take my two year old to a few Halloween events.

Here on the campground tomorrow they are having a trick-or-treat event for any kids staying this weekend.

@shaggin I don't know how many there will be. I've only seen 2 youngsters so far and the place is already nearly full. I hope there will be more around tomorrow. I'd hate to be stuck with all that leftover candy.

So far, it's been very relaxing. It seems to be a quiet campground well off the beaten path.

It sounds like you will have an active, fun weekend. My plans are pretty quiet. I need to get some final garden chores done and I am working on a short story.

@DWDavis You may. It's a farm tale that is about a couple who rescue an aged plow horse from an auction. The lady in the equation has a gossipy sort of friend. And that friend has a special needs grandson and on they go......

@DWDavis Not this year. I was in the pantomime the last two years but this year I decided to do something more practical so I'm helping with the scenery and lighting. Little One is in it though.
