Food Porn: "Tuna Dynamites"

It sounds weird to name my meal for dinner. Since I have so many long green chili peppers, I decided to make a street food called "dynamite." I put some tuna and cheese in the inner core of the long green chili peppers and wrapped them in egg crepe. Then I fried them like spring rolls. They were so tasty, and I dipped them in a combination of ketchup and mayonnaise. At least, I do not need to let the long-finger peppers be wasted. Do you use excess ingredients to make other meals?

I thought you were torturing mice or something... It looks like mouse tails sticking out of the rolls. When I'm chopping up onions or other ingredients, I often make up extra and keep them in the fridge to use in something else.

The tails are so cute, right? My granny used to do that, too. I have not tried keeping some onions and the like in the fridge. But I might if I am expert in cooking.

@DaddyEvil I would love to make them pickled. One of my brothers keeps asking me to do it. But I am so hardheaded about this idea. That is a good idea. It is a good prop to serve them on the table during Halloween.

@Shavkat I'd be looking really close at the tails before I picked one of the rolls up off the serving plate. With my luck, you'd leave one mouse alive and roll it up to scare the poop out of me at the dinner table. Just remember that cut onions need to be kept in a good container with a good lid or everything in the fridge will smell like onions. I also kept chopped up bell peppers in a sealed container in the fridge, too.

Ohhhh, is that kinda like a lumpia? I can see why they are called dynamite - maybe the heat of the peppers make the fire part . We had excess leftover vegetables, so I threw it in with another leftover - it made enough for our dinner last night!

@Shavkat I've had many lumpias, but not dynamites. I would love to try! We don't like to waste leftovers, but sometimes we find they went bad . . . nothing we can do except toss them in the trash.

@much2say I agree with you. I am trying my best not to throw food. As my father said, "Don't waste food because there are some people who cannot have it."

The way it was cooked is like "lumpia." Have you tried some? I am sure you will like munching them. I also like to eat leftover foods. It is a big no-no for us to waste leftovers.

I tried my best to do something new in the kitchen. You are like some of my friends and relatives. They think that I am improving my cooking skills.

Ooh I love dynamites though I have yet to try the tuna version. Those long green peppers are expensive these days, how did you have so many? Do you grow them in your garden?

I guess I am lucky that they are cheaper here in Baguio City. I got them from the public market. You should try the tuna as filling.

Aside from not liking chili peppers, this looks good. Although BECAUSE of the chili peppers I would probably have to pass.
