Dear all,
As I'm sure many of you read in my wife's most recent posts, her grandparents both passed away yesterday morning. Half an hour apart, is it weird that we're still in shock even though we knew it was coming? The actual reality is far different than the expectation.
Even Courtney's uncle cried, and he's never cried before in the entire time I've known him (that I remember.) They are deeply Loved and sorely missed.
All I can ask is for continued prayers for our family at this time. Thank you all in advance and I will be ending this here.

I think, even when we know it is coming, it's still hard. I mean, nobody REALLY ever wants to ever say goodbye. And I think sometimes when we mourn we're not so much mourning for the loss of life as much as we are mourning for future days we won't be able to spend making new memories and sharing old ones, hugging and laughing and being close, the holidays without them and so on and so forth.

I'm so sorry...that's a sad shock for your family.
I know it would be twice as hard for our children, but after 57 years of marriage, I wish my husband and I could go at the same time.
You all will be in my prayers.

I will keep all of you in my prayers and thoughts. It's always hard to say goodbye to those that you love.

I just am really in shock that she went too, but it is good they could go together and not have to be apart. I think she just couldn't take the heartbreak of being without him.
My uncle even gave me a hug, which I don't remember that ever happening. I mean there are a pictures of when I was a kid and he was holding me, but that is a different story lol.
But yes, they will be very missed....more than I could ever say

@MommyOfEli2013, they were such a part of so much of your life (even long before I came along) so I know you're devastated. I mean it's hard for me too, but I do know it's different for you.

@jnrdutton I still am in too much shock to really comprehend it....so I know I haven't been as emotional as my uncle, or my mom....but it still is just as hard.

@MommyOfEli2013 well that's pain on a different level (for your mom and uncle) since your grands are their parents.
I'm sure even at their age they feel like orphans.
