Today's trip to the big Tesco.

What a day we've had! You'll never believe what a day we've had! But I'm going to tell you anyway! We went to the big Tesco again today. (Well it's actually yesterday because it's already after midnight here!) Everything went as usual to start with. I put the recycle in the recycle receptacle and we went up on the lift. We got 1 bunch of flowers for £4 and this time they were pink. Then I went to the magazines. I was looking for a Leisure Painter magazine again but still couldn't find one. So I got an Artists and Illustrators magazine instead. I also got an SFX magazine because this month is a Doctor Who special. Then I went and got some Love, Corn, 2 bottles of water which I reached with my walking stick, and 2 prawn layered salads. Then we went to look at some stationary, which is where the toys used to be. My Mum was looking for some small envelopes but we couldn't find any. Then I went to look for some pads for my Mum, but they didn't have the ones she has either. I then got blueberries, spring onions, rocket lettuce, 2 lemons and a carton of soy milk with no sugars. My Mum got some little gem lettuce and some bananas. We couldn't see any strawberries again, so we got raspberries again. Don't know why there seems to be a lack of strawberries these days. I managed to find some pitted dates for my step-dad, but they were different to the usual ones. Then I went and got my yoghurts and Mums milk, and then we went to get some puddings for my Mum and step-dad for the weekend. After that I got some Danish Blue cheese for my step-dad, but at first I didn't think I was going to be able to get it, but then I saw it on the top shelf! I went to the vegan and ready meals isle and got some scrambled tofu again. They still didn't have any chick'n'less bites and they weren't even listed on the edge of the shelf, so I've got a horrible feeling they may have discontinued them! I don't like the alternatives that I get so much, but I got them anyway. Then I got a creamy mushroom slice for Saturday, a vegan cheese and broccoli quiche, some chicken and bacon style tortellini for Sunday and some vegan mac and cheese again. While I was doing this, Mum was getting her own ready meals. Next we got some cranberry sauce and apple sauce, and then we went to get some microwave rice, the egg fried rice kind. Then we went and got a pot noodle, some cockles and a small tin of skinless and boneless salmon for my step-dad. After that we got some cake, and I got some mini vegan cakes for myself. And then it was off to the crisps. And that's where it all went wrong. I went ahead and waited by the crisps for my Mum. She seemed to be taking a long time, longer than usual I mean, so I went to the end of the isle to see where she was. She was coming but she looked rather seedy. When she got to me she said, I feel a bit off. I said, you look a bit off. So I chose the crisps and put them in the trolley. Then Mum asked me to fetch some Ribena with no added sugar, so I fetched that. Then my Mum said she was feeling a bit giddy, so she went to sit on a bench while I finished the shopping. I went and got some Matcha green tea T-bags and some chamomile T-bags, then I got some chocolate digestives for my step-dad. Next I went to the frozen section and I got some vegan magnum ice lollies, but this time they were raspberry swirl flavour! I'd never seen those ones before so I thought I'd give them a try. I got a large bag of frozen peas and a small bag of McCain's chips, but I couldn't get the crinkle cut ones so I had to get straight. Mum had put meals on her list for the frozen section, but she said not to bother with those because she usually chooses what she wants when she sees it, but I did get some battered cod. I also got myself some more salmon bites. Then I got some toilet rolls and some domestos. Then I went to pay. An old lady came up behind me when I was putting the groceries on the conveyor, and I had a nasty idea she was going to start putting her things on before I was finished, so I had a great idea! I got one of those plastic divider things and I put it right at the end of the conveyor, and whenever the conveyor moved, I'd move the divider back to the end so that I could keep putting my things on and the person behind could see where I'd put the divider as if to say STOP this is my space! It stopped the old lady from putting her groceries on until I'd finished anyway! The groceries came to just over £130. Then I went and sat on the bench by my Mum. I gave her her change, club card and receipt. Then she told me to go and ask the cashier at the nearest till if I could have a carrier bag because she was feeling sick and she wanted to be sick in it! A lady we know called Nora came up just then and I told her my Mum was feeling sick. Nora was with her youngest granddaughter Jasmine. She told my Mum to get well soon, but she thought she better leave us to it! I went and swapped my book at the Tesco book swap. I also saw a book about the railways of North Staffordshire so I got that as a surprise for my step-dad. Then I went back and sat on the bench by my Mum. My Mum again told me to go and ask for a bag for her to be sick in. So I went to the nearest cashier and told her what my Mum had asked me to say, but instead of giving me a bag she called this young blond assistant over and told her that the lady on the bench isn't feeling very well. So the young blond assistant went over to my Mum and asked her if she wasn't feeling very well, and my Mum said, no. So the blond assistant asked her what was wrong and she told her she felt giddy and sick. Then the assistant asked her if she could do anything for her, would she like her to get her some water or anything, and my Mum said, yes, I'd like some water. It was 4:30pm by now so my Mum told me to take the groceries to the car and tell my step-dad what was happening. So I went down, I told my step-dad that Mum wasn't feeling very well, she was feeling giddy and sick, and we put the groceries in the boot of the car. Then I went to go back up on the lift to see my Mum, but my step-dad didn't follow me. I went and sat back down by my Mum and the assistant came back with a bottle of water for her. She undid it and gave it to my Mum. Then she asked her how she was getting home, and she said my husband's here in the car park. She didn't know why he hadn't come up in the lift with me. The assistant said, do you want any help getting downstairs? Would you like a wheelchair or something? And Mum said, that'd be good. So the assistant went to fetch a wheelchair. My Mum said to me, your dad'll be surprised when I go down in a wheelchair. Then the assistant came back with the wheelchair and just as she did that my step-dad turns up! So the assistant helped my Mum into the wheelchair and we rushed off to the lift! My step-dad couldn't keep up with us! When we were in the car park the assistant helped my Mum out of the wheelchair. She put her bottle of water in the cup holder in the car. Then my Mum said, I haven't paid for the water, and the assistant said, Oh, don't worry about that, it's on us! So then we set off for home. By this time it was 4:45pm. When we got home I told my Mum to be careful how she got out if the car. My step-dad went in to the house and got her walker to help her. While he was doing that I got ALL the bags out of the boot and took them into the kitchen. I put my step-dad's railway book on the arm of the settee where we usually leave the mail. I went and changed our of my shoes and coat and then I unpacked the groceries and put them away, while Mum rested on the sofa. After that I had my dinner, and later I put the recycle out for the recycle man tomorrow (or actually later today!), and later I put the new flowers out and put the old ones and the offcuts in the garden waste bin which was also already on the drive ready for tomorrow. I also had some more recycle to put out.. My Mum was supposed to go to the house group tonight, but she said when they came to pick her up she'd say she wasn't going because she wasn't feeling very well. But nobody turned up anyway! I put my fish out for tomorrows dinner and I had one of my raspberry swirl flavoured vegan magnum ice lollies while watching the telly. My Mum said she was feeling a lot better and she had a cup of tea and a scone. I'm sorry this post has been so long, and if you've got to this bit, thank you for being patient and sticking with me! It's just that such a lot has been happening today! What have you lot been getting up to? I hope you are all well. Have a great night.

@RubyHawk She doesn't like going to the doctor and she hates hospitals but if it gets any worse she'll have to go.

Thank you very much. Yes, my Mum's feeling much better now. She went to the hairdressers this morning and the hairdresser said she might have labyrinthitis.

May be your Mum did not want to go out, even if she did not really feel sick. I am glad that she is well.

@sharonelton I can understand that she preferred to stay at home if she was not very well.

She felt a bit better, but she was going to tell anyone who came to pick her up that she wouldn't be going to the house group. In the end nobody came anyway so she didn't have to.

@sharonelton That was a really rough time for your mum. Hope she’s feeling better now. I started reading this without my glasses and was a bit alarmed that you were going to the magistrates, then I put my glasses on and realised that it was the magazines you were going to.

@sharonelton Oh it’s great that your mum can get her hair done and a medical diagnosis all in the one place. Saves an extra trip. Does her doctor also do perms and blow dries?

I hope your mum is feeling better by now. So she wasn't actually sick in the end? Do you remember when strawberries were available in June and July and that was it? No strawberries in November for sure!

Yes, my Mum is feeling a lot better now, thank you very much, and she went to the hairdressers this morning. I think she might have been a little bit sick when she got home, but not much. Well, no, I don't remember that. I'm not good with details like that.
