Well, I Stayed On

Yes, today I actually stayed on the phone when yet another medical insurance person called. They have been called for ages now and I usually decline the call or hang up when I find out who is calling. I stayed on once and waited and waited in the line for a medical expert to come on and they never did so I haven't tried again for months. Today I decided to stay on because I have wanted to see if I might be able to get that card that pays for groceries. I have heard people talk about them and see them advertised. It was a short call, a few qualifying questions only to find I would have to be on Medicaid to get this particular card I was wondering about and, I don't have any other benefits available to me. I could get $105 in OTC if I went with Etna but I am happy with Molina and wouldn't want to change just for a $15 difference. It's not worth it to me. Are you happy with your medical insurance?
So, all is well with my world so far.

i don't have health insurance. I haven't for years. I can't afford the ugly monthly payment and they have such high deductibles it's just not worth it to me. I go once a year to the local medical center for a check up, it costs me $60 for the office visit and about $20 for the labs. It works for right now for me.

That's a good price you are getting from your local medical center for labs and office visits. I have Molina Health Care and I don't pay for it. No co-pays or deductibles.

@celticeagle Is there money taken out of your Social Security check for Medicare? That is what happens with me on Aetna. My incoming money is too high for me to qualify for anything except Silver Sneakers and that pays for my pool membership so yay there!

@sallypup ........I get 'help' from Medicare because my income is low enough. With Molina, I get Silver Sneakers, OTC( or I can use that for transportation), primary care is $0 and specialist I have a $20 co-pay, eyes, dental, and hearing and my prescriptions are $0. No monthly premiums on either Medicare or Molina. My OTC is going up from $90 quarterly to $125.

My medical insurance that I currently have is good since they provide me free rides to my appointments.

The company I worked for pays my Medicare insurance. I was surprised that last year we got OTC products. I never applied for it because I though our income was to high. The insurance pays for it. It has nothing to do with income that was a nice surprise.

That's what the guy I talked to today said. I'd have to be on Medicaid.

Sorry to hear that. I sure like mine. I've been with them for about three years now.
