Health Benefits of Cabbage

I was compiling our second grocery list of the month and decided to add cabbage. I forget sometimes just how nutritious cabbage is. It has a lot of vitamin C in it. It may even help keep inflammation in check. It could help lower cholesterol levels, help keep the heart healthy, and lower blood pressure. It also improves digestion. With all that going for it, I am putting it on my list more often. It is low in cholesterol, calories, and sodium. Is fat-free.

I like it but am not sure if the kids do. I would love to try making some stuffed cabbage. Thanks for the idea.

@celticeagle You're welcome. It's a lot of work. We're going to make a roaster full for Christmas. In our house it's a two-person job. :-)

That is a shame. I am going for it. Inexpensive and tasy.

I cook cabbage with onions and ground beef and spices or boiled chicken and spices every once in a while. I enjoy it but Pretty won't eat it. I freeze the leftovers so they keep longer.

@celticeagle Why are so many of the best foods the least pleasant to eat? Cabbage gets a bad press.

Because so many haven't really tried and have no adventurous spirits. Cabbage is so easy to chop and add to soups in the winter. I find a taste for foods that I know are nutritious because I know they are good for me.
