This image is just a quick shot from the parking lot.
Bob had a podiatry appointment at 8:30 this morning. That means we were on the road by 7:00.
The nurse practitioner was named Sunshine. For real. She was very nice. I was impressed with the appointment and her care in educating as well. One thing she did that no one had ever done is listen to Bob's feet. I believe it was a sonogram, but she put some gel on his ankles and ran this little tool over his ankles. It was kind of neat to hear his blood pumping. He has good circulation. She also used a little device to determine if he had any feeling loss in his feet. It was a very thorough appointment. He will go back every four months.
His flexible cystoscopy revealed that he has no tumors or stones. He keeps growing, and regrowing scar tissue, which eventually closes up all processes and sends him to the ER because he cannot urinate. The plan is to get ahead of his body and have it dilated every three months as an office procedure. Then it will not be an emergency or so uncomfortable.
When we left the VA we made a big loop and went to get my new glasses. We got a lot done today.
Tomorrow is a work day, of course.

Well today, Thursday, was a work day. Yesterday, Wednesday, was very pleasant, even spending time at clinics and such.

These seem to be really top of the line providers he is meeting.

@DaddyEvil So many medications are hard on your kidneys. So is salt, but other things as well. It is like we walk a tight rope to treat our ailments.

@GardenGerty I'm glad they're finally stepping them up for him!
My doctor decided I need to see a nephrologist because my urine shows a large protein profile. She first asked me how much water I'm drinking in a day. When I told her about a gallon and a half, she said I was getting enough water so she needed me to see the specialist. We know it will be about six months before one can work me into their schedule...

She said that generally the best thing for people his age is to get in and get these regular trimming and cleaning up. He had not been in over a year. Also suggests getting antifungal powder and powdering the inside of his shoes after he wears them. I know that checking the sound of his blood flow is a major step in looking for peripheral artery disease, which can throw a blood clot and cause a stroke, or perhaps result in amputations.

@AmbiePam It was really cool to hear that swish swishing of the circulation. We are such complicated creations.

In many ways it was one of the nicer days we have had in ages, and the weather was good.

Good that his circulation is good. Hope the regular office procedure helps a lot.

It is much easier on all of us if we do not wait for it to be an emergency.
