Success in cooking tofu

Lately, mom likes to taste the food she sees on the videos on youtube. So she asked me to watch with her so that I can cook it too. It was a tofu dish , and the main cook in the video is from Vietnam so the ingredients are just the same that what we have here in the Philippines. The ingredients are just tofu and tomatoes . The process is just simple first cut the tofu into squares or blocks and cook it in a pan until its color turns into medium brown or just fry the tofu to be exact , when its brown and fried just add the chopped tomatoes and let it boil with the tofu. My version of the dish is a little different , to add taste a little, I sautèd garlic and onions and then I add the tofu and let it simmer until it turns brown , when its brown I added the tomatoes and let it simmer for a while... I added some butter and oyster sauce and let it simmer again until the tofu absorbs the butter and the oyster sauce and when its done I can serve it . On the side, I fried boneless milk fish and cooked rice. The finished product is on the picture uploaded . It tastes fresh, a little creamy and sweet and best eaten with rice and fish . Any tofu dish you have too?

I thought they looked like brownies until I read the title of your discussion. I had not had tofu for years, and when I did, I just sautéed the tofu with taco seasoning.

@AmbiePam Oh , I guess its the way I cut them haha sorry , I cut them in large squares so that they won't break while cooking. I think tofu goes well with anything thats why its just so easy to prepare a tofu dish.
