Moonlighting

Do you remember this show? It has Cybil Sheperd and Bruce Willis in it. Was on for 5 seasons from 1985-1990. She is a supermodel whose investment adviser stole her money and the only asset she has left is the Blue Moon Detective Agency. I found it on Hulu the other night. It is a lot like the Buffy and Angels series' in that the dialogue is so fun and rather cerebral at times. Just like I like my comedy to be. They work together so well. Am so glad I found it. Did you like it when it was on prime time? I found the picture on Adobe stock.

I did watch it when it originally aired. My guess is they’re showing it now to make sure Bruce Willis gets residuals (money paid actors when a show re-airs) to help with care for his frontal temporal dementia.

I grew up watching Moonlighting as well as other 80s detective shows like Remington Steele, Knight Rider, Cagney & Lacey, Starsky & Hutch and many more. Moonlighting is a typical 80s show where you will find a really strong female character. It was the height of the feminist movement, the 80s.

Oh I loved Moonlighting back in the day . . .I just couldn't wait for it to come on each week. Those two together were hysterical . . . I really miss that kind of chemistry and humor - I don't see that kind of writing for TV these days.

I had forgotten how hysterical they were. I'm sure enjoy seeing it again. There are very few comedies on TV that I enjoy. Most are insulting.

@celticeagle Right - in fact a lot of current shows just aren't funny - I don't "get" the humor.

Yes, I remember this show. We watched it when we lived in Monte Carlo, in French and the French title was "Claire de Lune".

I remember that name from somewhere else. I love the French language. I've heard people say they liked the German language but I can't see it.

@celticeagle I am trying to learn to speak better German from years, I do not arrive. As much as I like French I hate German.

Yes, it was one of the shows I liked to watch back then. Really enjoyed the bantering. Too bad that he has dementia now.

I did like the dialogue. It was very clever. In one episode, Bruce Willis figures out something out of the blue and when Cybil Sheperd asked him, "When did you figure that out?" He said, "During the commercial." That's my favorite moment from the entire series.
