I don't know what the sudden rush to sell is all about but whatever. . . not my issue. It was originally listed at $392,000 but apparently now it is listed at $384K and she received a full price offer that she accepted. They expect it to go through in early January. Hopefully my sister will be in her new house by then so there will be somewhere for my mother to move to. I'm glad for her that she was able to sell it. I don't get it but there's a lot about my mother that I don't understand.

She may be just wanting to have a fresh start. Sometimes, that's important to some people. If she is like most other people, she will have a lot of purging to do--I am assuming she is planning on downsizing. A lot of work lies ahead, and I imagine you and your sister will be asked to help. Life is ever changing--some we like, some we don't. Some make us happy and some make us sad. Life can truly be a rollercoaster, can't it? Really an adorable home! I love the way the woods and the stream are in back, so nice.

Wow! I knew that houses in NJ were expensive; but a 2 bedroom house here would cost around $200,000, no more than $250M. Is your mom going to buy another house? Have a great weekend.

@NJChicaa Oh, I see. I thought the move to your sister's house was temporary. That's good that she will be living with someone.

I guess one of the reasons is she can't stand being in that home without your Father. Understandable from that aspect and a big house for just one person I guess..just my thoughts, I wouldn't know either Chicaa. Well good news I guess she can move in with your sis. Oh it is a beautiful house Chicaa..did you grow up there?

No. They sold my childhood house and moved into a retirement community like 10 years ago.

Probably too many memories in that house for her.

Will your mother be living with your sister full-time now that she's sold her house?
