We have a star fruit and it yields well. Many like to eat them but I find them sour I have made jam and pickle with it Of the birds parrots are fond of this fruit but they just nibble when the fruit is tender and in fact destroy quite a bit of it. As you can see from the image when they cut horizontally the slice that you get resembles a star Star fruits have several health properties and they are good for those suffering from asthma. The star fruits are one of the common fruits in my province. They are sweet when they are ripe.

@allknowing The sour star fruits are usually grown in wilds.

I have bought this fruit in our stores in the past for variety. Mostly when my kids were little as it was fun to have.

They, of course, sell them in the United States, but not at the grocery store I shop. If they did, I would certainly buy one.

In my city, it is not popular to have them. My ignorance was nourished when I ate it for the very first time in the countryside. If ever they are available in the public market, it costs an arm and a leg.

The sad part is those that grow in our compound are just wasted.
