Oxtail pho was a disappointment

We went to a Vietnamese restaurant last Saturday and decided to have some pho, which is a Vietnamese soup with rice noodles, usually with some kind of beef in it. I saw they had oxtail pho and decided to try it. I love oxtail and have never seen it offered on a pho menu in any other place I've gone to. I was really excited to eat it. I am not sure if the oxtail was there merely for flavor or if the chef doesn't know what he is doing but it was very tough. Many pieces you couldn't even bite into. Such a disappointment. I should have told the waiter about it and have them bring me something else but I kept on eating, picking at the oxtail, because the broth was flavorful and the noodles were good, and I didn't want to wait for anything else. When we were paying the bill hubby mentioned to the waiter that the oxtail meat was tough. Not sure if that did anything. But one thing is for sure I don't think I will have oxtail pho there again. Hubby had the short rib pho. While he was able to eat it it wasn't as soft as it should have been either. But at least he ate it all.
