She said she was dying, and then she did.

Around 4am some drunk fellow was walking around my building singing at the top of his lungs. That would get me up, unsurprisingly. As I started to drift off again close to 5am, I suddenly heard the neighbor below me exit her apartment, knock on the door across from her, and said, “(Expletive) I’m dying! (Expletive) I’m dying!” From the sound of it, she went into his apartment, and shut the door.
This did not worry me greatly, believe it or not, because around here you hear stuff like that, and they aren’t serious. Half the time, it’s a drunk person. Well, as you can see tell from my title, she wasn’t kidding. She died. I came home from my errands today, and met the man assigned to remove her body from the apartment. I had heard sirens twice last night, so I assume one of those instances were for her, and they couldn’t save her. I have no idea why she died, as the gentleman had no idea either (he offered that info). She looked to be around fifty years old, and in average shape.
It is startling to hear someone’s last few minutes on earth.
*That neighbor did call 911 like I thought; they just couldn’t save her.

That's really distressing. I'm sorry for her family.

That would make me feel very strange. If the situation was so bad I wonder why the person in the apartment she went to did not call 911 right away perhaps she could have been saved, Another thought is that how odd usually people who feel like they're dying would keep to their beds so she was looking for help and didn't find any,

Most of the time people are not kidding when they say they are dying. We are all dying from the moment we are born but some know when the end is much more near. If they have been sick they will know it. Some people might say it because they plan on hurting themselves and ending their own lives. Usually, those have other signs and won't tell you to face they are going to die.
Most of the time people hear this in the hospital or ambulances or while waiting for someone to come help. I never take it lightly.

What a pathetic situation. I think she might have had a cardiac arrest. Such deaths are inevitable when you are staying alone.

In crowded buildings you hear a lot. Honestly none of us know when we might die.

That's a pity, especially since she was so young.
