Today I started to check if I needed something else for Sunday. I decided that I could buy a baguette to cut thinly and dry in the oven to serve with the guacamole. But would that be enough reason to ask for a shopper to come? I needed whole pepper. But that was not important either. And I did not have ice cream and I craved for some. But in my country there´s a saying that the Devil knows more because he is old than because he´s the Devil. When I invited Dixie and Humberto Dixie immediatl asked me what could she bring. I said nothing. You are invited. But she insisted and told me that she knew a place where they sold delicious cakes for diabetics. Dixie and Alejandra are diabetics but Alejandra won´t care about eating a piece of normal cake for her birthday. I told Dixie that Alejandra did not mind a normal cake but that I did not know where to buy a special one. So she told me that she´d bring it. Are you sure? I asked. Sure, don´t worry, she replied. Now, as I was thinking about Sunday for the nth time I decided to call her. She answered that she didn´t know, that she was tired, so many things and could she answer me tomorrow if she was bringing the cake or not? I GOT ANGRY! Noone had asked her anything. She had offered it. Now, if I hadn´t called her, there might be a birthday party with no birthday cake. I said never mind, I need to know now and order today because I have an invitation tomorrow. Friends, I bought the cake. And the bread and the whole pepper. And I had a great idea and after looking at the price of a bottle of Bailey, I bought one to take to Tania´s for Christmas. It will be my gift for all of us. I had been thinking what to buy for Tania but everything would be difficult. And the kind of money I can spare to give to the grandkids is too little and will mean nothing to them. They also brought ice cream and I just had some. So all is well that ends well. My chocolate cake is in the fridge. I don´t know if Dixie will eat it. But I do know that Alejandra forgets she is a diabetic duribf her birthday. She says that it is just once every year
