Friends, the smallest party for Alejandra could not have been better.
Dixie came earlier than Alejandra and helped me with the sandwiches while I went for a second pain pill. My back was behaving badly!
Comparing notes with the other ladies in front of Humberto who is a doctor, we all agreed that on certain occations it was fine to double the dose of our pain pills.
There were enough different yummy things for everyone and although Dixie did not eat any hot thinguies (I had olives filled with jalapeños for instance) but Alejandra enjoyed everything I made.
I sat and let Dixie serve the tea. Everyone preferred an Earl Grey tea that looked beautiful in the tiny cups from my best china. And it was wonderful because she had to refill the cups several times.
Then came the cake. I only had one candle that was given to me after the electricity problem weeks ago. Then I used up even the candles I had for special occations.
We sang Happy birthday in Spanish and in English, Alejandra made 3 wishes (she only said "eyes, eyes, eyes"
) and we ate the cake. It was then that Dixie remembered that she had brought ice cream. I declined, remembering that I had read that it was a vanilla ice cream made for diabetic people when I put it away. But then when she brought it to the table I discovered that it was the delicious real strawberry ice cream that Dixie makes with her Thermomix. She had only recycled the container
So I asked for some. Delicious!
I ordered Dixie not to was the dishes and now I´m washing them little by little. I already washed, dried and put away all the best china. I have to wash the silverware yet but it is soaking and I´ll do it tomorrow.
It is now past midnight. So sleep tight, friends. See you tomorrow

@sallypup It is a Japanese china. It is so delicate that have to be very careful with my dumb hands. Yesterday we remembered Alice in Wonderland´s tea party as we even had a tea pot of the same china.

@marguicha Alejandra must be a sensible and lovely woman. I am sorry she lost her husband.

We all did. And I´m glad that I did not let Dixie wash the dishes. We could all talk together.

What bad timing to have your back hurting you.
I’m glad Alejandra liked everything you made especially since that’s who the guest of honor was!
Ohh how lucky on the ice cream that sounds great!
