It has been 3 months / myLot

I just realized that today is December 4. At this time 3 months ago I was sitting in the shock/trauma ICU waiting room at Robert Wood Johnson hospital waiting to hear about my father's condition after his ocean accident. He was gone just a few hours later. In some ways it feels like it just happened a couple of weeks ago and in others it seems like it was a year ago. Life certainly is different for all of us without him. I don't think any of us are handling it particularly well. I guess that is what happens when you lose someone who truly was larger than life.

The only thing I can give you in the way of “advice” is to make sure you grieve ON YOUR TERMS. Do NOT let any of your family members tell you how you “should feel” about it. You’re the one feeling the pain, so don’t let anyone else tell you how you “should” be dealing with it.

I feel ya, I truly do. It's been a bit over a year that my dad passed away . . . everyday I am still thinking about him . . . like you said, life certainly is different.

That is a shocker. Maybe sometime in the future you and close family members can get together for a supportive sharing time. Take care.

Time passes very quickly, This past November 15 which was on a Wednesday exactly like it was in 1967 my dad passed away and I was ten years old, However, you dad is with you in spirit and watching over you,
