Another day, another pile of gloomy weather, and another tea tasted. This was the red velvet, and it was quite good. Another thing that’ll warm you up on a cold day is a Jimmy Buffett song. Here’s today’s song on my list of favorites. Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants Shades of mom and pop McCartney! (From Rolling Stone’s review of Volcano) Now that is vicious. What, the guy is happily married and has a daughter, so he can’t have a happy, upbeat song to celebrate that fact? That’s one of the reasons Jimmy Buffett is still relevant and Rolling Stone has been an afterthought for the last 40 years or so. This is a delightful, happy song about having kids. A lullaby (“song for the children, song for the world” is how the French translates) for everyone to enjoy. If you want the “heavy” stuff from this album, it’ll be along later. Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants Written by Jimmy Buffett From Volcano, 1979 Once around Venus, twice around Mars:

Now you have! Seriously, there are some better-known songs on here, but not “big hits.”

Though cheerful, not a big fan of it. I know, shame on me

I have, too. Given everything that was going on in 1979 we needed a cheerful song.
