This is a lovely deep red bowl that had a floral arrangement in it. It was given to my sister when one of her friends passed on. She gave it to me before she passed. She collected ruby red glass. This bowl is that deep red but has clear holly leaves etched around the top. I have managed to clean all the floral adhesive out, as I am going to use it for food. Next Sunday we are having a meal to celebrate both the Thanksgiving and Christmas season at church. The church is buying turkey and ham. The rest of us are bringing a dish to share. I shall make home made whole berry cranberry sauce. . . possibly with apples and cinnamon added. I think it will be beautiful in this bowl.

@GardenGerty I went to a thrift "boutique" shop the other day . . . they had 1/2 off Christmas glassware . . . oh if I had the money and room, I would have bought a whole bunch of it!! I do recall seeing some beautiful red glassware.

That is a lovely bowl I love any kind of colored glass and this red one will look very festive at your church event. How hard was it to get that floral adhesive out?

Once I got smart it was not too bad. I would have sprayed it with WD 40, but hesitated because I want to put food in it. I tried really hot water, and that was a drag, very slow. I finally poured some cooking oil in and spread it all over the adhesive, then used a stainless steel scrubber and it went very fast. Then cleaned it up with Dawn and hot water.

That bowl is very pretty and I'm sure it will be the perfect dish for your cranberry sauce. I have one ruby red glass pitcher that my mom and day got one year for their anniversary. I use it occasionally as a vase for a small bunch of flowers.
