Reflecting on our day

I am sitting in my cozy, heated throw. I appreciate many things.
It was a little cooler today but not bad. We just use the throws to not have to run up the heating bill so much, but be totally comfortable.
Speaking of throws brings us to Bob's sister, Elaine. Someone finally came in and checked out her boiler. It was not heating because it had air in the lines. Her home is a cozy 73 degrees F. and she did not have to pay for a new furnace or boiler and wait for it to be delivered and installed. She says the hot water is still not hot. Bob was trying to direct her how to trouble shoot it, but she does not understand.
The plumber was supposed to come to town today. He had another job as well as our work. He has a fever and is throwing up. He does not want to share that with us. You may remember I mentioned that was going around our town as well. I told him to stay hydrated and take care.
Since the plumber was not coming today we had time to run to Emporia (about 45 miles) to return a defective item to Hobby Lobby, and shop a little. Of course I spent more money, but I also got something for my Secret Santa exchange. Then we went across the road to Aldi. I went in for four things and spent $76, because I kept remembering things and Bob came in and walked the aisles with me. I was glad for his company.
The one thing I had to get done today was to make my cranberry sauce for tomorrow's dinner at church. I put granny smith apples and a cinnamon stick in it to make it unique. It is in that red glass bowl. I had a silicone cover that fit over it. The temperature is cool enough this evening that I took it to the car already. So that is how today went by.

It is my own little twist on the recipe on the bag. It is also good with jalapeno added.

Sounds like quite a productive day. Even got some things off your to-do list. Win. Win.
Nice to use the cool temp out for refrigeration.

Today, Sunday, was a little cool. I got to have a conversation at church with a missionary that is traveling to raise support. It was a neat thing to do.

This stomach bug is in our school, and I went to the local grocery and the cashier's husband had just called her as he was at a business in the parking lot throwing up. She had it last week, the girl bagging the groceries said she is the one that gave it to the cashier. I am lucky not to have caught it.

My plumbing issues are small, more annoying than not. My new kitchen faucet is all in, but one of the plastic pipes under the sink broke, so until that is replaced we cannot turn on the water, but I have two sides to my kitchen since this was a duplex. I think the bigger project is the new sink and piping in my west bathroom. He got the water shut off tight enough I am not needing to dump buckets of water from the drips I had. He may have to replace some old pipe in the wall, though.

Glad Elaine's boiler was able to be fixed and not needing replacing. Hope the hot water heater can be fixed too.
Sounds like you got a lot taken care of. Your cranberry sauce sounds good.
Hope the plumber begins to feel better soon.
Have a good time at church tomorrow.

I am really looking forward to the time at church. Bob was asking Elaine if her hot water heater was gas or electric and she did not know. It probably (in my opinion) needs a few gallons drained from the bottom of the tank to get rid of sediment.
