I read in an article that we can be six years younger than our actual age. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), there are ways to look younger, and they called them "Life's Essential 8." Here are as follows: 1. Eating better 2. Sleeping well 3. Being active 4. Not smoking 5. Managing blood sugar 6. Managing cholesterol 7. Managing blood pressure 8. Managing weight Can you do these things to look six years younger than your actual age? Well the key word is managing. You can manage all you want these things but can you actually fix them? I find walking to be beneficial. It does nothing for my wrinkles though.

Wrinkles are inevitable....but nowadays there are creams that do help to delay onset of such symptoms. I think aging gracefully is better rather than hankering to look younger and become the odd one out in a group that is actually six years younger.

Well, smoking definitely ages a person, so you know you’ll at least keep from looking older. And, you can always tell when someone has slept well because they look so refreshed. I would add drinking plenty of water to keep hydrated. It makes your skin look better, and good skin takes years off a person. Six years? Probably not, but at least a few. That’s just my opinion though.

@vandana7 Thank you, vanny. I take after my mom who lost her mind, but darn it, she sure looked younger than normal while doing it!

What about stress? Stress I believe causes sleeplessness, and also many other psychosomatic issues. Avoiding stress is almost impossible for me. So yeah...I do look old...but I have seen your pictures. You look cute and pretty young.

@AmbiePam I think it is not that accurate. I had seen some people who looked younger than their real age. But they do smoke and drink a lot. At some point, it is contradictory to what they claim. Some people look mature, which can be a genetic factor.

I wondered what I would look like if I reached that age. Do you believe that life starts at 40?

@shaggin I can imagine now. I guess some people say it because of being in denial the real fact about aging.

I cannot have more than one doctor´s appointment during the day or I´ll get depressed. I can´t manage so many things.

I agree that these entries can be manageable. They are very simple ways that we can keep healthy and fit. I, myself, am not comfortable seeing a doctor or two, either.

Since I am working with two companies, I cannot have enough sleep lately. Taking a nap in the afternoon can do the trick.

@LadyDuck I used to feel this way when oversleeping. But then, I really need to do it because evening classes are more intense than the morning classes.

Looking younger....is not fun for women. Kinda wrong attention. We may also be talking just casually and our society will think we are flirting ..simply because we are looking younger or because they think she is unmarried so she is ..you know...in need of male company and is trapping somebody younger. I swear it is a headache. I am glad I look my age.

I get your point. Sometimes it can make a younger person defined in a different way. It was like my adult woman student, who tends to keep on doing exercises and dieting just to look younger.

I do all of these except for sleep! I don't get to sleep well recently.
