Trauma Dates

It is amazing how the brain works. Take for instance victims of posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD). It is found that one of the triggers for people suffering from PTSD is trauma dates or the anniversary of such traumas. A favorite YouTube contributor of mine had been feeling rather irritable the last couple of weeks. She couldn't figure out why this was occurring until her therapist reminded her that she had been outed from Scientology about this time last year. The 'family' and 'friends' she had known her entire life had just suddenly dropped her like a hot potato (after seeing she had been communicating with a known SP or ex-scientologist) never to be heard from again. He explained to her that sometimes our bodies react in different ways on the anniversary of these types of major trauma.

It is absolutely true. A trauma is something that stays inside you for all your life. On the anniversary of a trauma you brain reminds you what happened and the memories resurface.

I'm sure it does affect the way we handle our days. I'm sorry she's going through that.
