One more day

We have a full day of school today, and then Friday is a half day.
Friday will likely be party themed all day. Not sure why we bother to come.
Kids are dropping like flies with stomach bug, or respiratory illness.
My "check up" went well. Just monitoring my diabetes. Talking about concerns. It is funny to me how the tunes change about what meds will help me.
What it boils down to is that I need to get my blood sugar under control and keep it there, so I am trying.Tomorrow, however, for the adults, is the Calorie Cart day. Lots of snacks and goodies. Not really good for blood sugar.
Oh, today is pajama day. I have some flannel sleep pants and will wear a plain shirt with them. Not a big deal for me. I do not always have the designated dress up items for school.
It is time for some breakfast, and I will get going to be ready for work.

I hope you got to be off early and are having a good break. Or did you have to go to work Tuesday?

@GardenGerty Today is my first day back to work.
I am not feeling very well, and I would be surprised if I last the entire day, but I have to try because if I call in sick today, that means I will loose out on my stat pay for Christmas and Boxing Days. So I have to give it a try.

It feels like break is not quite long enough.

I remember my grade school days just before Christmas who could sit still? However, I was a real case for my poor mom. From about grade 1 to 3, I went through all the usual children's diseases like mumps and got sick exactly about two weeks before Christmas each year, Poor mom was so tired what with planning for Christmas and me with high fevers, I am glad you checkup went well at least you can attempt to monitor your blood sugar,

Well, I have been to visit family and I am back home again. NOW I can take care of my blood sugar. My daughter got pneumonia for Christmas one year. I usually got a stomach bug either for Thanksgiving or Christmas or both.

New term for me, but very descriptive. I do not diet, exactly. I do certain things and try to be sensible. Fewer sweets sitting around. I move more. Eat vegetables.

@GardenGerty That's what I do now. Small serves and eat really slowly so there is no time for seconds.

There are always cookies and goodies when I visit my brother. It is hard to balance.

I think that it's quite apt for the pajama day. Enjoy your last full day at work. I am sure that everyone at school would be looking forward to Christmas break. I got my Christmas break from last Friday.

Our break is shorter this year, but there are advantages to that I guess.

@GardenGerty Yes, longer breaks can make you lazy. But glad that this break I am not lazy and staying quite active and productive.

I felt the same way when it was a school day, and all we did was have a party. I think the kids would rather just not have a party and get that extra day off. I guess they just want to incorporate some fun, and they need to get their quota of school days in.

I think they did actually have the MTSS groups, and the kids with Friday library did that, and some of them had PE and Music. The upper grades--fourth and fifth--watched movies tied to things they had been reading and had tasty treats.

At least I did not have to worry about what to wear.
