Today's painting. A boat - Work in progress

This is today's work in progress. A painting of a boat in acrylic. I started it last week by just doing the sky. I started today's session later than usual because there was no luncheon club for my Mum and step-dad at Church, and my Mum was using the dining room table for wrapping presents up on. My brother came round with our presents but we told him that theirs weren't ready yet! So they said they'd come back later for them, so that meant it was even more urgent that my Mum wrapped the presents that she'd got. She's still got to get a few more presents for my nephews too, but they're going to have to have those on Boxing Day now when we go round their house. But then, later on, Dave phoned up. No-one was quick enough to get to the phone, so he put a message on the answer machine and we could hear it! He said they'd had to go home because of the kids but they'll come round probably tomorrow, or if not, on Saturday to collect the presents. But at least the ones we have got are wrapped now! We put them all in two large bags and now they are waiting by the door. So I started my painting after EastEnders at 8:00pm which means I only had 2 hours to do some painting till I come to bed at 10:00pm. Well, when I say come to bed, I really mean come to the bedroom! So when I started painting I did the sea in first in a slightly darker shade of blue than the sky. Then I painted the sand in a mixture of mid yellow and white. Then I did the blue stripe on the boat, then I did the white parts on the boat. Ofcause I left it to dry inbetween colours. After that I did the red on the bottom of the boat, with a bit of pink up one end where the paint on the boat has faded. I've still got to find a way of depicting the scratches on the side of the boat. I tried to do it with white paint but that wasn't working. I did the highlights on the blue part of the boat and the red part on the left. Then it was time to call it a day. I emptied the water jars and threw away what needed to be thrown away, but the rest of it I will put away tomorrow. What have you lot been getting up to today? Are you all ready for Christmas?
