My phone just rang, and I saw the number was from Vacaville, California. I don't know anyone in Vacaville, but I answered it for some reason. A lady that talked really fast said she was trying to get ahold of AT&T, and she was on a land line and her cell phone wasn't working. I looked up an AT&T number online and told her what it was, and she said she would call back if that number didn't work. Certainly odd. I hope someone on the number I gave her can help.

I sure hope so, too. You're lucky you didn't get scammed.

I wouldn’t have trusted her to tell her anything. I’m too suspicious!

I get calls occasionally with scam intent written all over them. When they ask me to press numbers, I disconnect.

Yes, I get a lot of scam calls, too. As soon as I hear the person's voice saying some ridiculous thing on the other end (a lot of times about something I didn't sign up for or request) I hang up and block the number.

You're braver than I am. Unless an number is in my contact list, I will not answer the phone when it rings. Hope she got some help as well.

She didn't call back, so I'm guessing she did.

I'm glad you helped her out though. Most people, like me, would've hung up the phone

That is odd.

I doubt that I would have even answered the call. If it's from a place I have no contact with or ever had, or a number not recognized, I just let it go to voicemail. If they truly need or want to talk to me, they can leave a message and I will call them back. Did you know that spoofing is a real thing? The caller steals your number. Then they use your number to run your scams. It happened to a friend of mine a few months ago, it got messy and she had to get a new number.
